Library of Congress Grant AOWS Partners with Library of Congress, Receives TPS Award

The America on the World Stage project received a $20,000 Teaching with Primary Sources Award from the Library of Congress to support the work of the Transatlantic Teacher Scholars in the spring of 2012.

Congratulations to Julie Haddix of Nathanael Greene Elementary School in Greene County who was awarded the 2011 Redd Center Teaching Award from the Western History Association.
   
Fourteen AOTWS Teacher Scholars Traveled to Colorado to participate in the 2011 Backpack Historian Field experience, The American West ­ from the West.

Each day teachers explored significant spaces and places that traced the evolution and growth of the American West from the colonial period to the modern era.

Sixteen AOTWS Teacher Scholars recently traveled to Boston Massachusetts to participate in the 2010 Backpack Historian Field experience, First Contact to Freedom. Each day teachers explored significant spaces and places in early American History from the traditional and international perspectives.
